In 1968 Tom of Finland created "Kake" as an ongoing character in his panel stories. This dark-haired, mustached leatherman often wore a tight white T-shirt bearing the motto “Fucker.” This hyper-masculine Johnny Appleseed traveled the world on his motorcycle to spread the seeds of liberated, mutually satisfying, ecstatically explicit gay sex.
